Free Information for You:

THE MACKAY 66 SHEET

We have found that it is critical to have information about our customers/clients. Armed with the right knowledge, you can outsell, out manage, out motivate and out negotiate your competition. Knowing your customer means knowing what your customer really wants. Maybe it’s your product, but maybe there is something else, like: recognition, respect, reliability, service, friendship, help – things all of us care about as human beings.

The Mackay 66 Sheet, inspired by Harvey Mackay, is a good way to develop a profile of each customer. Look, listen, and learn all you can about the customer, both personally and professionally. You’ll find topics for opening conversations, which can open doors for you and your company.

Beth’s Strategies:

What are your personal values that you live by and would want others to understand about you? What is your personal – life credo that guides your life?

Are we perfect in walking our walk . . .will it always be a work in progress? I believe so. I feel, if we put it “out there,” declare who we are and what we stand for, we have a greater likelihood of achieving who we strive to be.

Who are you being?

There is no right or wrong . . . this is all about YOU. Take time and jot down your guiding principles.

S.M.A.R.T. Business goals

S.M.A.R.T. is an acronym used in Goal Setting. It stands for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-based.

So what’s the difference between a smart goal and an un-smart goal?

Un-Smart Goal: We want to make more sprockets

Smart Goal: The sprocket department will raise sprocket production by 20% by the end of this year.

The first goal leaves a lot of unanswered questions. No one knows who is in charge. There’s no way to tell when the goal has really been achieved. For effective goals to function as yardsticks for tracking a company’s performance and progress, they must state how much of what kind of performance and by when it is to be accomplished. They must be relevant, aggressive yet achievable, and be stated in measurable or quantifiable terms.

THE “STICTION T” EXERCISE

How to TAKE action and get Un-Stuck (Created by Beth Adkisson)

Do you have an opportunity, obstacle or goal that you want to achieve but it just seems overwhelming or you just don’t know where to even start….? Are you stuck or immobilized from action?

Stiction is the force required to cause one body in contact with another to begin to move. I call this exercise the “Stiction T” because it is all about YOU seeing the possibility of success (contacting with success) in order for you to “take action.”

This exercise is a simple but powerful technique to quickly identify what success would look like when you achieve your desired outcome and what are the key steps that you would need to take to realize that outcome.
